I knew about all of these stories BUT they are being told to you in such a more personal way, I have learned so much more about these people that talked about. This is a very very good podcast!!

Appreciated the thorough investigation and thoughtful editing. Also that the focus was more than the murders/monster but the resilience of survivors. Your attention to law enforcement’s biases was valuable, as this blinds us in many fields but perhaps few as critical as this one. Maxine and...Read full review »

Absolutely riveting! Can’t believe how the Alaska police let this go on for 10 whole years. Loved the archival interviews: throughly researched and well put together!

Love every thing about this podcast. It takes a deep dive into the mind and motivation of each subject! I appreciate all the psychology presented around the crimes and criminals. It also treats the victims with respect and tells a little of their story as well. This podcast is well produced and a...Read full review »

This was my first time hearing this story. What a tragedy 😢 hearing these women’s stories… I was stopped in my tracks when you shared that all the women heard the others in their heads when they ran from him. Holy moly 😭 well done with the story 🙏🏽

I love how the host tells this story and how she gives credit to those individuals who helped this case.

I was a 21 year old female murder suspect in Anchorage right at that time (I’m innocent). I was on summer break from an Outside college. I have never in my life been treated with such a lack of professionalism and basic respect from those detectives, including one of the female ones.

I never leave reviews and I don’t listen to podcast. EXCEPT Michelle Ward’s mind of a monster. This podcast is phenomenal! Her goal to focus is to tell the stories of the victims and their story. She accomplishes that and reaches 120%. She is thorough and keeps you captivated. Her interviews...Read full review »

The way this story unfolds pays tribute to Hansen’s victims; they are the heroes of this story. I send love and peace to the woman who used the Cindy Paulson name to bring this depraved individual to justice. Her attention to detail, photographic memory, and overall resilience are so inspiring....Read full review »

I’ve listened to all the seasons. I love that is organized, respectful, & easy to listen. I enjoy Dr. Ward’s voice and the way she speaks. There are podcasts I cannot listen to because the narration and all the extra theatrics. This is just good ole fashion easy to follow story telling about...Read full review »

One of the best true crime podcasts I’ve listened to! Michelle is an amazing interviewer and storyteller. She humanises the people involved and I loved hearing from the victim-survivors, especially Cindy… what an incredible woman!

I see some comments about not liking a woman commentator for true crime. But let’s remember the reason that Hansen remained out there longer than he should have was because it was men that were “in charge”. If they had listened to Maxine Farrell at the beginning, Cindy and a lot of other women...Read full review »

This podcast is well done! I love the respect that was shown towards Cindy as a victim during the interviews. This podcast is so well done because it really tells the story of the victims without focusing as much on the serial killer and the gory details- please keep making more!

It’s fine as a true crime podcast. I wasn’t enthralled as I’ve been with previous podcasts I’ve listened to and the narrator is forgettable as the host. Not terrible but nothing to write home about. Stick to dateline.

I’m giving this five stars simply because past his childhood it’s good. I happened to know people that knew Robert Hansen as a child. I think a lot more research into his history and initial town he was born in and started out life needed to be done. I run a business in Estherville. From what...Read full review »

I’ve only listened to the latest season, but I think it’s great. And contrary to what other reviews read, I think the narrator is very respectful regarding the victims and their lives, and it wasn’t made into a fashion show. Seems that some just have an issue with female podcasters.

I don’t know if this Dr. is on special medication or emotionally lobotomized, zero respect for the dead. She cheerfully describes a detective as “standing over a shallow grave..” and “wearing a jumper, bla bla hair, style..” moving on to women in law enforcement. The victims, survivors and detectives get the lions share of the attention and it’s fascinating - it’s the people who catch the killers who make these stories addictive - my new favourite podcast

Listened to 4 episodes of season 1. Total snooze, never gets better. Barely talk about the crimes or the perpetrators or the victims. Goes on and on and ON talking to a reporter about hitchhiking, or his first day on the job, or the zeitgeist of the time — but literally almost never talk about...Read full review »

For too long, the dominant voices in true-crime have been the killers. That’s understandable, of course: most of their victims are dead. One reason I find this series so compelling is that the producers have taken the time to find living victims and supportive female voices. And taken the time...Read full review »
