Bad production choices
Overdubbing the narrator’s interview segments detracts from the overall appeal, creating a jarring and unprofessional effect. The production choices seem odd, contributing to a disjointed and artificial feel. The narration comes across as forced and lacks authenticity, resembling more of a subpar acting performance. Additionally, the music and sound design are underwhelming. The use of generic rock music and garbage orchestrations coupled with clichéd stock sound effects creates a sonic backdrop that feels inauthentic and cheaply produced. Pacing is horrible. Overall sensationalistic and corny.

Thorough storytelling. Using different interview subjects provides a multifaceted view of the crime. Covering two killers at once is an interesting way to make connections between them and keeps the story (even if you’ve heard it before) from feeling stale.
