“I was a teenager when this took place but I remember hearing about it. I was in Alaska in 2018 and climbed the hill in Whittier on a remarkably clear day for weather. Very few of those which is largely why Whittier exists. It’s weather was a key benefit for a supply line to the Alaska interior. I didn’t realize at the time that the name of the building there, that most Whittier residents live in, was named after the congressman. Looking forward to the rest of the story. Well done so far.”
