Half-baked
On the whole, this show is characterized by poor writing, tangential content, mediocre production and subpar journalism. There are a few moments in the first couple episodes that do feel genuinely evocative, even poetic. But generally it pales in comparison to something like The Trojan Horse Affair, a story with subjects similarly unwilling to talk on the record but crafted in a way that infuses a lot more intrigue into it. Maybe Walczak is not as well funded as the team at Serial Productions, or maybe he’s not a journalist of comparable skill. I tend to assume the latter, given that he includes a farcical list of “homework” assignments for the audience—the juiciest scoops he wish he could have gotten—at the end of each episode. In any case, this is a show better skipped.

More reviews of Missing on 9/11
I drive a lot so I’ll probably finish it (halfway through), but so far I’m still waiting for it to pick up. The trailer had me expecting a Serial or Bear Brook, but it’s basically just a long story your grandpa tells every year over family dinner about a strange thing that happened.

So far this is a great story. I was actually born in Anchorage in July of 1972. My family was there due to my dad being in the Army. I grew up and live in Florida.

While this is a fascinating story, it is delivered with a lot of repetition. I find myself thinking “I’ve already heard this... several times...” It seems slower than it needs to be. Not sure I’d recommend it.
