Hedley Thomas take note
This is how you do a long podcast series. There is some beautiful writing, it’s thorough and detailed, respectful, and there’s no chest-beating. Great to hear the anonymous host on the ground and be reminded that he is more than a voiceover reader. He’s got to be an investigative journalist, in my book. Don’t mean to bag Hedley, but the repetition, lazy editing, self-referential writing, and mediocre (so far) Bronwyn podcast doesn’t do him or his employer any favours, and especially doesn’t do justice to the victim, which this series does in spades, by recreating Niamh’s world in a sensitive, intelligent way. I haven’t gotten into any of the other Casefile Presents except the Vanishing of Vivienne Cameron (absolutely fascinating) but recommend this one.

However…the narrator is so stilted and “sing song” that the podcast is difficult to listen to. Whoever told this guy he could...Read full review »
