Description
Episode 75 Michael John Olson Golf enthusiast Michael John Olson came to West Palm Beach, Florida from his home state of Minnesota in 1979 to find work on one of Florida's many golf courses. He was trying to establish himself, but quickly made friends and settled in. Then in the early morning hours of December 1, 1979, after dropping a friend off before heading to his hotel to get some rest after a night out, the 20 year old vanished along with his Maroon 1979 Pontiac Grand Prix, and was never seen again. A check of his hotel room didn't yield any clues, and it appeared Michael never arrived after dropping off his friend. What happened on the short drive from where Michael's friend last saw him to his hotel room? Was Michael targeted or stalked by someone with ill intentions, or could Michael have driven off the road and into one of the many area waterways or canals? Over four decades later, answers remain elusive. Michael's schoolmate Paige Nienaber was shocked to find out that Michael vanished without a trace, and he decided to help advocate for Michael's case, and bring attention to it. He produced an excellent Youtube video about the case which you can find here. In this episode, Paige discusses the case and his efforts to find out what happened to Michael. When Michael John Olson vanished in 1979, he was described as being 5ft8, and weighing 165 pounds. He had Brown hair, and Hazel eyes.
