Best blend of smart and entertaining MMA content
I have been a UFC fan since the mid-90's but with shows like MMA Junkie I have evolved, with the sport, to a MMA fan. Good combination of guest ranging from the well marketed/known to the up-and-coming fighters. Great breakdowns of MMA fights, organisations, news and changes in the sport. Dedicated and entertaining call-in fans always make for colourful banter. The amount of non-MMA sports talk at time can be tiring (especially when it is baseball) but never overshadows the true content of the show. I believe we are in what will surely be referred to as the golden age of MMA. A time where fighters fight for the love of the sport, want to make entertaining fights and strive for the most competitive bouts. I hope the show does not become overly focussed and bias to certain styles or fighters and continue to allow alternate opinions onto the show. This will help to keep the flow of interest and participation high. Stifling fan comments, no matter how ridiculous, only alienates and isolates those who are trying to understand a still young and developing sport.Read full review »
