Vulnerable. Healing. Insightful.
"Catharsis meets talent and inspiration, a truly powerful and transformative combination." This is how my 65 year old father responded to the first episode of this podcast, and I think it is a great review. This is quite possibly the most honest and vulnerable podcast I have ever heard. I am an avid podcast fan and have listened to hundreds of diffferent podcasts, from the most popular to some super obscure podcasts, and this is one of the most beautiful I have ever listened to. First off, Tifah is an unbelievable musician, so you get to listen to a super talented musician describe her process, which is very fascinating. Combine this with a deeply vulnerable and honest conversation about her divorce, her grief and ultimately her healing process. This podcast is like Song Exploder, meets The Liturgist meets going to counseling. I love her mission of de-stigmatizing divorce, and both the hosts and Tifah do such a wonderful job creating a safe place for people to find their own healing, and to experience their own grief and to listen to some transcendent music.Read full review »

This podcast blew me away. Equal parts behind the music, and counseling. Love the way that Latifah lets us in on her story, her process and her heart. If you’re hurting, if you love good music, if you love good storytelling - this is a must listen.

Separation and divorce, I have found my thoughts and heart played out so eloquently through the podcast and music. Divorce has been one of the loneliest experiences of my life only now exacerbated by ex-husband’s sudden death at a young 53. It begins a whole new grieving process as I grapple with...Read full review »
