Entertaining in a "Kate Plus Eight" kind of way
I'd give it 1 star for "content". I often find it horrifying to hear the hosts and guests describe their children. Granted, this is how ALL parents occasionally talk or vent about kids... but it usually happens at Moms' Night Out. I find it disturbing to have those venting conversations broadcast to the universe for the kids' teachers and the parents of schoolmates and eventually Dan and Allison's kids to hear. I'd give it 5 stars for "entertainment value". It is a well done Slate Magazine Podcast. I find it entertaining in a "Jon and Kate Plus Eight" or "Kardashian" train wreck kind of way. Rather than inviting cameras into their homes... the hosts invite us into their homes via podcast. Add in some authors and interviews, etc. and you have Slate's Mom and Dad. I subscribe. I listen. I'm entertained. I'm also horrified. :)Read full review »
