Just tell the story!
If what the narrator is saying is true about the cause of his insomnia, I really hope he’s getting professional help. He keeps saying how personal this issue is (about the insomnia), so I can’t help but wonder why he keeps sharing it? It’s not really necessary and doesn’t add to the mystery or intrigue of the story. If he’s using it as a selling point to get more people to listen, it’s not working. His story telling is good and the topic is interesting, but I fast forward through his personal narrative and experiences.
