It’s awesome I love it, but only cause it’s so different! Dark topic and sword & scale are so much better though! 🤷‍♂️ but you really can’t go wrong with jack Luna story telling

Great idea - the shock factor wasn’t really there until ‘The Butcher’. The first two shorts were easy listening to be honest, but The Butcher is what I expected and wanted it to be. In addition: - the advert for that stupid, ridiculous security company in The Butcher, Part 1 almost made me delete...

What a different perspective on the way you deliver this absolutely awesome. Can’t wait for more great work guys.

Love the story telling feel and another great production. Very centred around cannibalism which isn’t my thing. I looove true crime with all the intimate, gorey details but the first four episodes didn’t engage me. Got better on the 5th and 6th so far.

Boring, disgusting, not even a little bit creative. In fact, gives real insight into what a creep the author and host are. #SSDGM

Disappointing, disgusting and boring.

They lost me when they graphically imagined the rape of a young child. These guys are idiots.
Dvdmanman via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 01/19/19
Monstruo lives true to its description. Never before have I had such a visceral, physical reaction to storytelling as I have when listening to this Podcast. Some of the descriptions of events make me cringe, gasp and shiver - just as I was hoping. If you don’t like gruesome true crime stories...

I’ve been a fan of Sword and Scale since it’s start. I was looking forward to this new podcast and the first one was good, although at times it sounded like a cheesy porn audio book. The second one was too much. Graphic details of child rape and murder was enough to make me hit the unsubscribe...

They’re making up completely speculated stories about what a 10 year old girl thought when she saw her killers penis??? You don’t know what a dead girl who never told her story thought. The fact that you think it’s ok to even speculate on it is utterly revolting. Check these losers hard drives...

The first two part story took me two tries to get through. It was an interesting story when I actually gave it a chance. But I am done with this podcast after the second story. Who the f*** thought a story describing multiple children’s rapes in graphic detail was a good idea? Too far.
Court3455 via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 01/18/19
Disappointed- I was hoping for new content but so far, the stories are already very well known. If you've listened to ANY true crime podcast, you already know these stories. It's just drawn out story telling. It's well produced so that's a pro.

I listened to sword and scale none stop for days..I just could not stop...this on the other hand had me feeling “I wish it would end sooner” Sorry, just being honest! :(

Big, big fan of Tyler Bell and Jack Luna, and I must say, I was a bit dubious about this collaboration because I felt their style was so different to Sword & Scale.....but somehow it all meshes together beautifully. I’ve listened to “The Butcher,” “The Ripper” and “The Chef,” and I am very...

The after shows are cringe worthy, sound like you two get together to stroke each other off. Was really hoping for something a little less wordy and more on the scary side, not your best work mike!!!

I am not nearly articulate enough to properly describe how dark and truly disturbing this podcast is. One has to experience it to understand.

Huge fan of Sword and Scale, mostly due to the interviews and first hand information. While these stories are interesting and very dark and graphic, I cant get into it due to the narration. I like Mikes voice but he sounds like he’s trying too hard. I was hoping for better ... :(

I was not sure about the first offering from Monstruo but the butcher episodes were amazing. Jack Luna was so effective as the mind of the butcher. Instead off horrific roll call of his victims you get inside his head and work backwards from his appearance in court. Congratulations gentlemen...

I’m a fan of sword and scale, and this is such a disastrous monstrosity that I can understand the title. The storytellers are trying too hard and it shows. They’re trying to be descriptive and engaging but end up drab and boring. Stop, please. Go back to what you guys know.
Grummlinds via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 01/17/19
This podcast is completely different from what I expected, which at first I wasn’t sure of, but now I love. This show is definitely more of a mesh between true crime and horror stories than just the straight true crime in sword and scale. In fact these tales are almost so horrifying and gruesome...

This podcast lets you see into the mind of the victim and the killer. It’s highly disturbing but well done. What would you expect from a show with this description? well done
Btokke via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 01/16/19
I was looking forward to hearing this podcast as I am a fan of Sword and Scale. I found this podcast to be so slow in the story and almost “made up” for parts of it! The description of the guy riding the train? (And other descriptions) How would you even know how they felt? It just didn’t ring...

The attention to detail of the sound effects is astounding. 😂 As an audiophile you are deserving of a 5 star.
anj3an via Apple Podcasts · Philippines · 01/16/19
There is work to be done here. It’s way too descriptive, and not in a very good way - it reminded me of someone who is trying way too hard to make it sound good, or a badly written homework assignment. I just love hearing about true crime stories - it’s very disturbing but interesting!

Pusslaaja via Apple Podcasts · Finland · 01/16/19
This podcast is just horrific. It’s graphic in the worst way, glorifying child abuse and glamourising cannibalistic sexual predators. Poor writing and terrible story-telling. Count how many times they describe body fluids as “soup”. Sword and Scale often crossed the line, so I don’t know what...
ailisnic via Apple Podcasts · Canada · 01/16/19
I love how you get into the psych of the killer and the victim. This is something that is always missing from normal true crime. It makes you feel like you are there and can imagine the horror of what is unfolding. I get it’s not for everyone hence why there are quite a few bad ratings but good...

Sadly after all the promotions I felt let down by what felt like a school project, I’m a big fan of sword and scale and give that the big thumbs up, but to be honest, one episode of Monsturo was enough........ and not because it was scary as promoted.. Keep up the great work on Sword and Scale...

Fantastic...the first true crime podcast to really deliver the facts behind some incredibly horrific murders in a way that allows you to truly feel the horror of each case. It’s mind blowing to think that these killers lived amongst people like us, totally undetected, I wonder who is living next...

Believe it or not, I was spellbound by the storytelling in the first episode even though I was well versed in the first murder, but the drawn out details leave you with very little connection and context for the cases. The second episode was irredeemable by the time I realized every new story is...

Definitely a work in progress. Too descriptive like a amateur writing a first book. Why 5 stars? Because I totally get what you are trying to do. I hope you don’t give up and further refine this. It’s unique, cool and could be amazing. I don’t think it will ever be everyone’s cup of tea so...

nikkiDen8 via Apple Podcasts · Australia · 01/14/19
The first true crime podcast I’ve ever had to turn off! Not because of the events but the way it’s written and the host talks about it. It was like listening to some over the top fan fiction erotica and was way over the top in the sexual detail! Gross!

I enjoy most Sword and Scale episodes so I tried this one. Not for me. Too over the top trying to be edgy. Once in a while Sword and Scale crosses over into bad taste - this one goes all the way over the line. It's just not entertaining - and I know it's weird to say this about true crime, but...

It’s ok. I think I would have liked it more if they didn’t overhype it themselves beforehand.

If you're listening ie. in bed before you go to sleep; you can focus on the way the story is told and almost have a movie going on in your head.. the same as when you're reading a really well written book in a quiet place without distraction. **The adjectives and descriptive nature take over...
