11. Your Voice is Your Power: Exploring the Throat Chakra
Description
In this personal and intimate episode, Sam and Nadia explore the importance of authentic expression and how to reclaim your voice.
We are all born with a voice, a unique perspective, and something to share. But throughout our lives, most people’s expression dims. Whether it be from childhood experiences, trauma, or small but sticky moments of being belittled or embarrassed, you may have learned that your voice is not valued, insignificant, or unsafe. Over time, your voice gets smaller, and as a result, you shrink as well.
In this episode, Sam and Nadia discuss examples of a blocked throat chakra and share personal examples from their own lives. They discuss how to reclaim your voice when it has been shut down or blocked, and why this journey can be difficult but extremely beneficial.
Content Warning: Sam and Nadia reference examples that can result in a blocked voice, including child abuse. Sam shares about an experience of physical assault in college in some detail. Feel free to skip over these portions or pause this episode at any time if it feels overwhelming or too intense.
