My children have ask me similar questions and as now grown women are activists in their own right and have a better understanding of my choices. I appreciate hearing from your mom and dad and others that although mistakes were made there is no regret for standing up to racism, equity and social justice. I have no regrets for that either. We all loved our own children deeply and felt that if we didn’t act up and stand up our children would suffer from the world around them. The struggle continues in whatever way you younger folks decide. Us in our 60’s and older mostly seem to continue to work towards our beliefs in our own communities and provide the support that we can. Keep up the good work.”
