Interesting peek into how these families operated
My mother lived in fear in the 70s that I would take off and become a hippie, yippie, or a member of some domestic terrorist group. I was about as far from any of those as is possible for a teen but parents, right? So I was intrigued by this podcast and tbh very much enjoyed the dive into how these folks viewed the world and how their kids were collateral damage. One thing that threw me at the end, I knew Chesa Boudin was a familiar name but could not place him until the last episode where it was explained that he became the SF DA who was later ousted because of his bizzarrel actions that resulted in a dramatic increase in crime in SF. As someone who used to live in SF, I can tell you that Boudin’s removal from office was not some horrible conservative attack, but the response from a community who was finding it more and more impossible to live safely in the city. Completely agree we need to address disparity, but not at the risk of safety for an entire community.
