This week Joel does something he never thought he'd have to do: Defend 1977's Star Wars (A New Hope) against the harsh critiques of the young people. This one's off of his list, obviously. And Jess and Phoebe are back! Yay!

Week 2 of our Star Wars Film Festival concerns the 2016 film "Rogue One: A Star Wars Story." This one isn't on anyone's list, so it's technically a bonus episode. Which means that you can't complain if you don't like it. If you hate this episode, don't you dare come back around here asking me to do something about it. Still flying high off of finding out that I can bold stuff in these descriptions, if I'm being honest.

We kick off our Four-Part Season Two Star Wars Finale Extravaganza with this delightful romp through George Lucas's prequel trilogy closer, 2005's Revenge of the Sith. Man, that was a wordy sentence. I just discovered that I can make words bold in these descriptions! Cool! This movie is off of Jake's list and we're joined once again by our wives, Jessica Rousseau and Phoebe Runyon! Woo!

Ok then! Let's dig into The Coens' 1987 comedy "Raising Arizona." Joel loves this movie, Jake is maybe too young to fully appreciate it. That's not an impartial observation, this is Joel. I write these little descriptions.

How do you find the best shot in a movie that technically only has 1 cut in it? You'll never find out unless you listen to this whole thing. We're talking about Sam Mendes' 2019 masterpiece "1917." It's off of Jake's list.

O brother! Let's get into Joel and Ethan Coen's 2000 hit "O Brother, where art thou?" This one is off of Joel (Rousseau)'s list.

What, are you surprised that this 90's made-up music biopic of a one-hit-wonder act from the 60's, written and directed by Tom Hanks and featuring music written by the bass player of Fountains of Wayne is on this list? If you are, you shouldn't be any more surprised that it's off of Joel's list. "That Thing You Do!" is his 2nd movie from 1996 in a row and I don't know why that's important. Look, I write all of these on the same day and this is number 7 in a row for me. Please just watch...

Oxford commas be damned, we're going to watch 2005's film adaptation of C.S. Lewis's much-beloved opening chapter in his "Chronicles of Narnia" series, "The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe." Grab a cup of tea, your favorite talking woodland animal, and let's jump right on in!

The year is 1996. The Macarena is sweeping the globe. The Coen brothers release their Midwest Masterpiece "Fargo." Jake Runyon will not be born for another two years. This one is off of Joel's list, so hear him go on about how great the Coens are for like, forever here.

If you're a fan of Martin Scorsese directing Leonardo DiCaprio, you're going to love this season. No, we don't review Gangs of New York. No, we don't talk about the Aviator, either. Just shut up, take your medicine and watch Shutter Island with us. This one is from Jake's list.

Ni! Grab a pair of coconuts and join us on an epic quest through the not-quite-a-movie-or-a-film Monty Python and the Holy Grail! This 1975 absurdist comedy is from Joel's list. On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place.

Grab your wands and spell books, this week the boys dive into the 4th film of the Harry Potter series, 2005's Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire! Also included at no extra charge is Joel's rant about how points are scored in Rowling's universe and how stupid he thinks it is. Stick around to the end when they pick the next two movies (films?).
