“As a resident of SC, when I first heard of the murders of the high-profile, old Southern Murdaugh family, I devoured as much news about them as I could. It was the first time I had heard of FitsNews.com or Ms. Matney. It quickly became clear that she was the primary person doing top-notch investigative reporting—which probably helped/catalyze SLED reopening the Stephen Smith murder case—which is a critical function of news that deserves public support. Sure, this is her first podcast, and it does not have its own production music, nor any other bells and whistles (yet). But she also seems to be taking great care with bringing the most salient and verified facts (via countless interviews and hours on the ground locally). I will continue to use Ms. Matney reporting, including this podcast, as my main sources for information on the Murdaugh Murders.”
