Brilliant...
My favorite podcast. The guy who runs it is a brilliant, articulate, and balanced expositor of history and its relevance today. Many of the last few months' episodes have featured 'politics' in the sense that they address current events, but always in the context of history: How does McCain's compaign compare to Lincoln? What was Adams' cabinet like? Is it correct to compare Obama to Kennedy? What are the similarities between economica conditiosn now and those of the Great Depression? And so forth. He's got an encyclopedic knowledge of historical facts -- but he doesn't toss them around to impress, only to educate. He talks like an academic and is careful and balanced -- this isn't an AM radio talk show. Production quality is nil -- no fancy intro music or producer credits or anything -- this is one show that's all about content and it's awesome.Read full review »
