“In this day and age where youth do not get direction or official sources of documentation on "graffiti" writing, My Life in Letters guides the listener to a vivid, colorful history of San Francisco graffiti through personal stories that books do not explain. Iʻm glad that a graffiti writer from SF that was a part of our history interviews writers from our history.
Adam Fujita gracefully leads each interviewee to paint their personal memories to let the viewer enjoy the stories with their own visuals. Many kids growing up today just see photos online of what writers of the "Golden Age of Graffiti." My Life In Letters brings the listener back to what actually occured in the early days of writing through personal perspectives of different graffiti crews. I thoroughly enjoyed this and hope it continues so I can enjoy more artist interviews that reflect the Hip-Hop culture of the Bay Area.”Read full review »
