17: How A Passion For Fashion Shaped Lizzie Renkert's Career on Both Sides of the Media
Listen now
Description
The former editor of the now defunct fashion magazine, Madison, turned fashion designer, Lizzie Renkert, has spent her entire career in fashion and the media. Her name is synonymous in both industries. Starting off in her first job straight out of fashion college as an assistant at Marie Claire (a job a million girls would kill for!) Lizzie spent years on the receiving end of hundreds of email pitches a day from small businesses, designers and product-based businesses’ hoping to get their 5 minutes of fame on the pages of a coveted women’s magazine. Then, once Madison closed, Lizzie turned her hand to fashion designing, teaming up with her talented and creative sister, Georgie, to launch the stunning floral themed fashion house, We Are Kindred, and now found herself the one pitching for air-time. Through her 18 years’ experience in women’s magazines Lizzie possesses a deep understanding of fashion consumers and knows exactly how the fashion media works. If there’s someone who can share their wisdom and insider secrets on how to cut through the noise and get noticed…it’s Lizzie Renkert and I can’t wait to share her expertise with you in this episode.
