Slowly Devolving into Mindless Rambling
This show started off great (except for the pointless cursing - Why limit your audience? It's juvenile.) as a concise historical epic storytelling of the history of Mormonism. Over the last few episodes, the show has gotten away from its roots. I literally could not listen to the last two episodes. I understand what Bryce is doing by trying to draw comparisons between the story he's telling of Mormonism with other, unrelated historical events. The problem is that I have actually cringed many times at a multitude of, usually minor, factual errors. He states these almost as throwaways while making these comparisons, and the comparisons themselves are overly-long and tenuous at best. Bryce, I believe you're undermining your entire show with this stuff. To me, it draws some credibility issues with everything else you've done to this point. It's also difficult to listen to. My constructive advice, because I loved the way the show started, and I'm still donating through Patreon: Stick with what you know. Keep shows at hour at most. Keep them focused. Don't try to make long-winded comparisons with other historical events. Those aren't what the show is about. Please lay off the drawn-out predicate adjectives. You say the same things over and over again, if you haven't noticed. Finally, a kid like you with your interests should be in school. "I urge you" to do it. You owe it to yourself.Read full review »

Bryce has this way of mixing Hardcore History, My Book of Mormon, and a bit of Cognitive Dissonance all together to produce an informative, fun show. I love to learn how the religion started and what contemporary themes shine through it.

I always assumed Mormonism was a bit on the crazy side, but to hear the story of Joseph Smith in detail is a treat. The book of Mormon is the fairy-tale of a madman, and to know that his life was just as interesting, (because it Actually happened...)this is fun to listen to.

This podcast is a must listen for anyone interested in Mormon history. The amount of research that has gone into this is overwhelming. Bryce tells the story as well as Dan Carlin on Hardcore History, and does an amazing job of setting the stage and giving the listeners a feeling of what it must...Read full review »
