A Narcissist’s darkness is not self sustaining and needs to reaffirm its false mass by the energy and validation of others whom the mask controls. Oftentimes when a person is set on a path for great things having finally overcome difficulties in life, a malign narcissist will appear to distract that person from their purpose and convert them to the narcissistic negativity of the npd psyche. Reaffirming oneself post a discard and smear campaign will be critical to the recovery journey.
