Corporate Garbage
Listening to Meet the Press for the first time today, I was shocked at the low quality of journalism I had to endure as Tim Russert interviewed Ralph Nader. First, Russert focuses his introductory remarks about Ralph Nader on accusations that Nader cost Gore the 2000 election, neglecting to mention anything about Nader's background or policies. Russert then obsesses over this "spoiler" accusation (with a jab at Nader's age thrown in for good measure), reposing the question in a more aggressive form after Nader has already responded to it thoroughly and directly. Runaway corporate power is arguably the most important issue of our time, and in announcing his candidacy, Nader becomes the only well-known candidate who is even willing to address the issue, let alone work towards progress. Russert does not pose any questions of substance that might allow the listener insight into Nader's policies or his ability to lead the country. This show is a perfect example of why you shouldn't get your news from a corporation! Check out "Democracy Now!" for some high-quality, independent journalism.Read full review »

In itunes the video podcast is always updated long before the audio. You can get the audio from NBC's website. ...methinks Apple is trying to get people to buy their devices that play the video.Read full review »
