Promesa Promesota ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Promesa Promesota is a really powerful short play by Gama Valle. I'm particularly impressed with the beauty (and sadness) of Carlos' internal monologue. The language is alluring and poetic without being pretentious. The direction from Kaitlin Paige Longoria is really strong: the relationship between brother/sister is very clear and I love that she found the playful moments and humor in the heaviness of this short script. It provides important levity. Jon Mulhearn’s sound design is professional and balanced. I was drawn into the specificity of the distinction between scene and monologue. Special acknowledgment to Andy Evan Cohen’s theme. Both actors, Fernando Gonzalez & Bertha Leal, give powerful vocal performances, and it is easy to visualize their pain and love for one another.Read full review »
