Touching, real and accountable
I sent Arkady an email because I have been so deeply touched by this podcast. Russia has been a part of my live now for decades and this podcast helped me integrate things about the culture, the system, the incomprehensible at times choices that people make in a way that helped me understand. It’s masterful in its simplicity yet depth. I’m grateful for it. Спасибо большое!

Wonderful insight into the historical accounts of normal Russians and how their Imperialist views are shaped through the times, by no means justifying them…The collateral damage to those who disagree with the momentum but also how they are unfortunately ending up being complicit.

I have never listened to a podcast that is so depressing in every single episode (currently listening to episode four). And yet it is so important to acknowledge these stories and historical facts. I did not expect I could be so moved/touched and deeply impacted by stories from a distant country.

Journalism takes many forms, but The Economist has always been among my favorite. After 15 years of subscribing this level of emotion in a story feels like new ground. Made me think and cry, can’t wait to listen to the series as a whole.
