“First of all, this podcast has a clear left-wing bias, but that's to be expected from NPR. The title of the first episode implies that you'd have to be living on another planet to believe that the NRA is soft on guns.
Additionally, one of the hosts said (regarding one of the people they were talking about; I'm paraphrasing here), "he believes that the right to bear arms does not come from government." Well, yeah. *No* rights come from government - you should have learned that in your high school civics class (I know I learned that in AP US Government).
The Bill of Rights doesn't *give* people rights, it just enumerates several specific rights that the government is not supposed to violate. The whole philosophy behind the constitution was that people are *born* with rights, and the government is supposed to *protect* those rights.
It worries me that people lack a basic understanding of the rights they're supposed to have, and that an organization which receives taxpayer money is fueling this ignorance.”Read full review »
