Come and sit on the couch with us
Ever get so invested in a show that you’re yelling at the TV? Even though you know it’s completely pointless, you’ll still say “No, don’t go in there!” Or “Just go to sleep already!” I have yelled at my phone (and thus been totally invested) more with this podcast than any other. Jeff and Ryan put you right there in the room with them, and you feel like you did the first time you played Final Fantasy with your friends. You can really visualize them on the couch going through the joys and pains of playing, to the extent that my brain will add closed captions sometimes like: *sobs into pillow* or *punches controller buttons furiously* or even *descends into madness*. But the podcast is more than just playing the game. The guys seem to actually grind through levels of philosophy where they’ll explore life, entertainment, and mall food as they reflect on what the game, and experience playing it, teaches us about ourselves.
