Thought it would be interesting but like others have said, the first podcast is filled with one of the narrators saying "Mmm" every time there is a millisecond of a pause. At least the first episode was semi interesting. The remaining episodes I've listened to, numbers 2 to 5/6,...Read full review »

As a beginner in the tech industry (currently going to school) listening to the speakers talk not only about their job but also the their roles is really inspiring and also it helping me understand what roles there are in the industry as well as their significance. I am excited to listen to...Read full review »

This podcast needs a producer who knows what they’re doing! I wanted to like it but couldn’t make it through the first episode.

As others have said, this podcast can use some polishing with some public speaking best practices. Otherwise, this is a wonderful insight into how the government views security, a great “layman’s” intro into the national security realm, and even some useful info for those interested in national...Read full review »

What an informative and well produced podcast! Caveat: I am a science and technology nerd, so it is right up my alley. One of my new favorites.

Similar annoyance as others have noted about the constant "uh huh", "right" noises. Additionally, aside from the first, Bin Laden, episode, none of the others were really stories, just vague job descriptions that sounded like they were being read from marketing material, or a...Read full review »

So happy to hear these stories from incredible individuals and to learn about their intriguing backgrounds.

The first episode was almost unbearable to listen to because of all the ummms and yeahs and noises from the hosts :(

Heres a better one. NSA = No Supporting Apartheid Now that would rock. Id even join the Patreon. Good luck with the pod tho. Maybe do an episode about kissinger and cambodia juxtaposed with Sullivan and current war escalation in middle east. OMG Slay.

Lots of things we didn’t know.

One of the hosts adds nothing to the conversation except “mhm” after every other word when someone else is speaking and she occasionally repeats a word they say. It quickly became so annoying that I’ve given up.

Somehow they have made NSA stories dull and boring, and it’s very generous to call them ‘stories’ because there isn’t much there. I’m on my 4th try getting through the first episode, and I just can’t stay engaged. I’m over half way through, and still not a lot of actual story about catching OBL...Read full review »

The first episode was just ok. The detail on the SIGINT process was very interesting and the personal stories were good. For obvious reasons they can’t and don’t give any real information. The hosts make lots of “uh huh” and “yeah” noises which are really distracting. I’ll try a few more episodes...Read full review »

Bin Laden episode was a chore to get through. Great lesson in how to provide nearly fifty minutes of content and say nothing. Whether you know quite a bit about the hunt for Bin Laden or very little, you will learn nothing new.

Could be sharing false methodologies that derail bad actors? Would not be happy if Podcast explains everything that is done to find our enemies. Why in the world…???

Thank you for introducing this to the podcast world. I am sure there will be concerns raised about shining light on the NSA. Regardless, it is well put together.

I like it second to imagery. Former squint.

Makes me sick that they think we are so stupid that we would actually believe the NSA and FISA court follows the law. They don’t follow the law and when they get caught they slap a national security label on it and go after those that would dare put them for their unconstitutional acts. Lies lies...Read full review »

As a previous NSAer, I’m super interested… BUT the constant uh huh-ing and responses from the host make it hard to focus on the conversation.

Bad idea

Great show and good question but PLEASE stop the constant ‘uh-huh’ ‘yea’ ‘right’. It is not an active listening exercise. Just let the host speak. No other podcast host as this much background distraction
hkamel via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/12/24
The hosts of the show constantly audibly affirm that they agree with the host as he speaks, it’s incredibly distracting to listen to. Please stop with the “mmmhmm, mmmhmm”!

the first episode is so mind-numbingly boring, I accidentally fell asleep
eittaf via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/08/24
The amount of hushed and soft “mmmhmm”, “oh”, “yeah”, “sure, wow” and vocal head nodding that the host do while their guest speaks is almost comical. It really takes you out of listening. Everything else is well produced and intreating, though.

The people being interviewed are smart, but the two interviewers are as dumb as rocks for the “How We Found Bin Laden” episode.

As a seasoned, ahem, “security researcher” from the great digital frontier of China, I’ve been keeping my ears peeled for any pearls of wisdom that may slip through the tightly sealed vault of the NSA. Naturally, I thought, “Why not start with their podcast?” Surely, they’d let some secrets leak,...Read full review »

Your interviewers talk over the guests and make noises while the guests are answering questions. It is very distracting and undermines the answers of the guests.
SarasotaChicago456 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 09/05/24
I find the stories from the guest speakers interesting. But I also find it a little distracting and annoying when the host says “mmhmm” every few seconds.
