I’ve listened to this podcast since its inception several years ago and always really enjoyed it. I’ve also bought, read, and recommended Dana’s books. She does an incredible job of examining sources, presenting multiple perspectives of historical stories, and narrating them as entertaining...Read full review »

I’ve loved the podcast—and Dana as a host—for years, but this most recent episode about the Three Kitchis ending with dull bro banter followed by corny guitar jams on the credits sure was an unpleasant surprise. I hope this Very Special Episode crossover or whatever it was isn’t going to be a...Read full review »

I’ve been listening to this podcast for the last three years and I can honestly say the only thing I don’t like about about this podcast is the lack of episodes. I wish there were more. I even make my husband listen with me sometimes. Every episode I listen to when it’s just Diana. Makes me feel...Read full review »

I have enjoyed Noble Blood podcast for years. However, I do not care for the ones with guest hosts.

Has always been one of my favorite podcasts but the complete butchering of names lately makes it hard to listen to Please fix this!!

Really impressed with this podcast! I’ve never been a history person, but I had a teacher recommend it to me, and I binged the first 50 episodes in a month and a half! Please don’t let the negativity stop you from continuing Noble Blood! I love it!

Today , I happened to stumble upon this series, wow .Not knowing anything about the Shah of Iran and his Empress, I chose this episode to be my introduction.Rivetting. Phillip from Sydney.

Dana is a writer, not a historian, and a lot of the text is in Wikipedia, word for word. The production quality is lacking for a Grim and Mild production. In one episode, she mispronounces Moilere, calling him “Moly-air-E”. Two episodes later, she uses the word “malingering” to mean loitering....Read full review »

I was a listener of this show from the beginning. Sadly, I can no longer listen to the blatant discrimination of conservatives. Dana has injected her opinion many times throughout this show, but over the last year it’s gotten to the extreme. Megan Markel is referenced as a victim many times...Read full review »

But the recent guest host for the Gloria Vanderbilt episode had an awful voice. I had to turn it off and google the story. Sounded like a valley girl. Otherwise zero notes on this cast!

Well researched. My big complaint, is she spends way more time on the English than literally any other country. I understand Schwartz may not be comfortable with other countries or she may feel others are more qualified, but she could pull in specialists to discuss other countries she’s not...Read full review »

This is an interesting podcast done in a way that’s easy to listen to. Far from dull and dry history, the people come alive while we hear about their lives. (And deaths at times)

This show is so consistently well written and fascinating, just remarkable. Kudos to Dana Schwartz; I always enjoy hearing her present these interesting and often forgotten stories of historical figures full of human detail and a historian’s eye for well-sourced research.

For the most part, I enjoy listening. Little (and not so little) things have added up, though. I just listened to the barbarian kings episode, and Dana pronounced Ravenna at least three different ways. Pointing out mispronunciations might seem like nitpicking, but repeated errors (especially...Read full review »

I love listening to Noble Blood. This podcast would get 5 stars except that the background music, which is wonderful, is too loud on some episodes and makes it hard to follow what Dana is saying. I say this as someone who has bought both her novels.

She’s definitely a liberal talking about transgender before the modern era. She ain’t all that as she’s lost her bag of chips. She’s just white, privileged, and all that.

I love the subjects covered on this podcast and have been listening since the beginning, but there are some flaws. I love the content but can only listen every few months as her manner of speaking is maddening to listen to Add that with finding out she has an issue with conservatives and it leads to a loss of a subscriber. Bye.

Dana is a great storyteller that can really bring the past to life. Appreciate this podcast so much!

Adding five minutes of a terrible podcast to the end of every episode is horrible. Stop trying to force feed us something completely unrelated. Also - many people are mentally ill without being violent. So pretty gross to use that as a justification for violence.

I first started listening to this podcast over two years ago, and I LOVED IT. Interesting historical figures and great storytelling had me hooked. The hatred of half of the country & polarized thinking, ex. “…no one should use Twitter anymore…” is wildly reactive & indicates a loathing of conservative listeners who have supported you. Great research. I’ve listened on and off for years but the commentary and judgement of the people and their time is insulting and distracting.

Dana, the content is very interesting, but the music you have added is very distracting and unnecessary to have throughout the entire episode.

Pretty sure Dana Schwartz is my long lost twin! 😍 All the deep-dives that make history interesting & I wanted since I was a kid dying of boredom learning the whitewashed “history” of our stupid patriarchy. 😏

If you’re looking to find historical facts, laced with a slight bit of personal opinion, you won’t find that here. In fact, you’ll find the inverse. Looked interesting, but lasted about 5 minutes with the host’s choppy, artificial, overly articulated recitation of what is clearly a script. Needs a coach to work on delivery. Can’t stand it, sorry.
