“I was really excited for this podcast, but if you’re here looking for balanced historical commentary you have come to the wrong place. It provides no real context for people without a background in European history and essentially distills an incredibly nuanced and difficult subject down to, “Another saintly woman being attacked and murdered by men for no real reason”. Is this reality? Of course not, but it’s presented in a way to make the listener feel as if a person who won the European birth lottery is the victim and the impoverished masses as monsters with an unquenchable thirst for blood.
If you’re looking for a general interest history podcast I very, very strongly suggest BBCs In Out Time. It’s a balanced discussion between experts with a host that knows how to keep the conversation moving.”
