Please consider not using the word “like” in every sentence. It’ll hugely improve the listening experience.

After being mutuals for years I unfortunately had to unfollow @hspter due to a tweet in which they said of someone else, “ ‘Lost her humanity’ is far too generic & kind. Her tweets and behavior are riddled with codependent dynamics, splitting and other signs of a massive personality...Read full review »

Used to enjoy but hard to listen to now that Hilary has gone full conspiracy theorist online. She has been posting the most outlandish things on Twitter that makes it hard to take her seriously

Sometimes there are great things, but it takes a lot of digging. It’s like listening to friends who sometimes talk about data science related things, but often goes off on tangents that’s hard to follow. Definitely a different rhythm to this podcast.

Have to unsubscribe. Listening to Hilary is like gossip at sorority event. Hilary certainly has a great depth of experience...but she strikes me as condescending and snarky. Roger is a balancing and objective force.

I subscribed to this Podcast a few months ago looking for some insights to the data science community and topics. What I found was about 10% data science related and 90% on non-related topics. Who eats a steak that's 90% bone? I enjoy listening to Roger and Hilary but enough about social and...Read full review »

I like how I can be informed about happenings in data science and data analysis without having to sit down and read something. I like the non-data bits, too - maybe even more than the data parts. I want to be friends in real life with them!

So good! I am TAing sophomore stats and have considered recommending this to my students. Glad also for the imposter article ref on medium. Used it for mentoring.

If the content were more focused, I could have pushed through Hillary’s use of “like” about 20 times per sentence. However, the content was rambling & thin on data science so I couldn’t make it. After listening to the first episode, I thought I would try the latest episode to see if it had...Read full review »

The hosts are smart and mostly well informed, but they veer off into topics that are either trivial (who cares about "Hilary's Habits"?) or about which they have nothing significant to contribute (anything about life sciences or biotech). The tone is gossipy, and not in a way that is...Read full review »

The topics look good, but I can’t listen for a long period when every third word is ‘like’ from both hosts. Sorry ... but it is annoying.

The only data science podcast that educated me and didn’t put me to sleep. It feels like I’m sitting in on a conversation. Not sure why people are so bothered by the speakers use of filler words. F***ing obnoxious. Episode 1 needs to be transcribed and analyzed to see just how many times they say “like.” Id be enjoying this if it weren’t for this. Get those thoughts out coherently please.

So bummed. Took online courses from Dr. Peng and like his joyful attitude but I just cannot take all the "like, then you kind of, like, need to, like..." Some sentences contain the word "like" more than five times. I've been hunting for a good podcast on data science and the...Read full review »

I’ve been working my way through a MS in Data Analytics so I had been looking for additional ways to keep tabs on the industry. Tune in for practical tips on what data science is in industry and academia. Try not to mind the lack of audio finishing, intro, or outro music.

There are generally about 10-15 minutes of great discussion in each episode, but the rest of it I could do without. I find the banter annoying and I agree that there are too many filler words. Seriously, it's like there's a laugh track playing. There's nothing funny being said, neither host is funny, but after every single comment they giggle as if there's some inside joke. It's so annoying and distracting. Stop laughing so much.Read full review »

Hilary and Roger discuss technical topics that may, at a glance seem too dry for a pod cast, but they always manage to keep it interesting and light hearted. I learn something new every episode. Keep up the good work!

The podcast doens't go deeply into topics. It's more like lisetning in to a couple of friends chatting over coffee but there's some really good stuff, some interesting stuff and some less interesting (like US politics which the rest of the world are just dismayed by).

Meh
I always want to try and like this podcast, but it's way too rambly. You rarely seem to stay on topic like more professional podcasts. It's also very clique-y and filled name dropping.
