“I've been looking for a good TV podcast for a while now. I found another but it was so dull and just the facts but then I somehow stumbled upon NBS. I'm don't even remember how I found them but I do know that I'm sure glad I did. Whether they're talking about old shows like Friends or the new fall season , these guys are funny, clever, smart and best of all they work off each other so well.
Which I feel is important as it sets it apart from "broadcasts" as it makes it seem more personal. These guys are so good at making a connection with their audience that I sometimes have to remind myself that they can't hear my comments; so I head to Twitter. Which is another thing you don't get with a lot of other podcasts. Personal interaction with their fans. If you tweet them, they actually respond and interact with whatever you have to say. They even put up with my sometimes not so great attempts at humour. :P I have to say, they are much funnier than I am. I even find myself enjoying this quirky little segment they call "What was Kenan's plan?" despite not understanding the references to the original TV show. It's a hilarious segment that Chris certainly seems more excited about than Dan but that in itself is entertaining. I hope they keep it around because I'm usually laughing like a crazy person. Luckily I'm usually alone at work whilst listening so nobody sees me laughing hysterically. Oh, and the whole interacting with their fans thing comes into play once again as they encouraged their listeners to send in tweets with #whatwaskenansplan and whether or not they want to hear it again. The tweets I've seen probably mean Dan will be disappointed.
In closing, if you want a fun podcast with a lot of good discussion on television plus a few good (awesome) tangents, this is the podcast for you. How they don't have more five star reviews is beyond me. Thank you, Dan & Chris for making such a fantastic podcast!”Read full review »
