A man suspected of attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump appeared in federal court on Monday, where he was charged with two gun-related offenses. Officials have identified the suspected would-be assassin as Ryan Wesley Routh, 58. He was spotted by a Secret Service agent on Sunday holding a rifle as he hid in the bushes at the former president's golf course in Florida. President Joe Biden said that the Secret Service needs more personnel. TikTok and its Chinese parent company ByteDance are facing a crucial court hearing on Monday in their legal challenge to a law that could lead to the social media app’s being banned in the United States as early as January 2025.
