“Rotoviz Overtime is one of two pods I'd call essential in 2023. The other is Stealing Bananas, and I'd suggest you listen to them both. My podcast time is dedicated to finding inspiration for new thought, not really focusing on specific player takes. The Overtime show provides a more relaxed, more moderate take on some of the more radical approaches introduced in Bananas. Each pod leads me towards thinking about the metagame of fantasy, player evaluation and draft strategy in a holistic manner, which in turn makes me a better fantasy manager. The through line and backbone of the two pods is Shawn Siegele, who I relate to academically with his thoughtful approach to the game. For the Overtime pod Colm Kelly provides a sensible, practical approach to the application of these principles. It helps that his charming voice is relaxing to listen to.
