Commitment to mediocrity
The genius of the show is that food choices reveal the often strange internal lives of others. Layers of unique experience result in very specific, frequently weird menus. Sadly, the boys just want to laugh at this. Highly enjoyable for the first few seasons, but as the pool of guests gets wider, the show has not evolved beyond being, essentially, a ‘bit’. Have the courage to be sincere every so often. It won’t break the show. Speaking of courage, Ed, mate, I believe in you. Don’t give up on being more like Stewart Lee.
