“My cousin put me on a mustang when I was 5 and I fell in love. I never looked back, I worked mucking stalls and road for other people in shows and was part of 4-H. Saddlebreds were the happening breed where I lived with shows and trail riding occupying my time. Then came college, a lot of travel and a career as a graphic designer that I thoroughly enjoyed. I bought a run down house in a part of town where my father had lived and raised chickens thinking I could do the same. Times had changed and no chickens allowed was the current rule. And so it started, I got horse manure, started compost piles, helped changed the zoning codes, got my chickens and turned my entire urban plot into a garden and chicken yard. Someone asked me to help exercise their horses and that led to gettin my real own first horse, an American Saddebred who lives a few miles away. It's not exactly a homestead but who knows. Right now I'm growing where I'm planted and am enjoying being retired. We had a garden growing up and two country Grandmas and I was missing those good tastes and smells when I happened upong your cookbook and class. It was just what the doctor ordered. So nice to meet you in Kidron and nice to hear your beginnings in depth. My cooking skills never matured in my high paced competative art world so now I'm back to my roots, I can make sour dough bread and more. Looking forward to you pod casts and more cooking. Still trying to solve my sparrows eating my new chickens feef but may have found a solution. I'll let you know how it works.”Read full review »
