No mater the ology I find a minimum of 12 ways to relate it to my day to day life. It’s getting exponentially harder to not bring ologies up in conversation. And I love it! Most people now just think you’re my bff Alie who knows everything or knows someone who knows everything…. I kind of do too!

This is such a cool and amazing podcast, there are funny jokes and you learn things! And I would like to say that I own I pigeon and apparently there is pigeonology! And I know you did ornithology, but that isn't enough! But it's really cool that someone does this and doesn't put you...Read full review »

While listing to this episode I couldn’t put my finger on whose voice Biological Anthropologist Dr. Lara Durgavich’s voice reminded me of… until I remembered. SHE SOUNDS LIKE GRIMES with her little lisp omg!

I just learned about this show, not sure how I missed it but now my family regularly hears “ I was listening to ologies and did you know…” I learn so much in so fun and interesting show about things I didn’t know I wanted to know about. It’s just fantastic! I also wish to be Allie’s friend and...Read full review »

Hi pod dad, I just wanted to say that this podcast does come in handy in impressing a group of retired doctors in a garden. Over the weekend I went to the Botanical Gardens at UC Berkeley and when the docent asked if anyone was familiar with cycads my hand shot up and I got to tell them all about...Read full review »

I thought the review “Ologies is the perfect lovechild between casual talk shows and NPR (and maybe a bit of shock jockey fun),” was spot on. In the Areology episode you asked about the last time Mars was habitable and gave two options 5 billion years ago or 30,000 billion years ago. Talking to...Read full review »

Wht an amazing find! These are all so interesting, I’ve listened to about 10 now (in the last week) and love all of them! Allie is such an engaging and thoughtful host. This is def binge worthy!

I deeply love Ologies. A smart and caring roommate recommended the dolorology episode to me after I told her how much trouble I was having recovering from a work-induced injury and the trauma surrounding it. That episode put me on a path that quite literally helped me heal from the inside out...Read full review »

I just listened to the episode on Dreams, and specifically about people seeing loved ones who have passed while dreaming. Sure enough, last night my dearly departed dog showed up in my dreams, and I think I have to leave five stars for that. Thanks for the always engaging and fascinating...Read full review »

When I started listening to this podcast a couple years ago, I figured it would simply be a way to feed broad scientific curiosities during commutes. I never figured the podcast would enter my own area of academic expertise (race and racism). The episodes with Dr. Psyche Williams-Forson, Dr. Tina...Read full review »

Dear Dad, I have listened to your podcast for years now, and haven’t left a review yet (mostly due to my own laziness), HOWEVER, I felt compelled to tell you that one day after listening to the acaropathology (ticks) episode- my partner told me about a rash on their body. I JUST found Ologies and fell in love with it immediately, so much so I joined the Patreon team. Though I wish I had found it earlier, the bonus is that I have lots and lots of episodes to listen to.

Have been listening to this podcast for a long time. Every time I listen to an episode on a topic I don’t think will interest me, I’m pleasantly surprised. Alie is like your chaotic best friend, pelting you with science facts you didn’t know you needed, via audio message. I have recommended this pod to quite literally anyone who will listen and have subsequently pelted them will the things I’ve learned.

This podcast and its phenomenal host provides never ending sources for engaging dinner table conversations (with two teenagers!) and brain food for me as I commute to and from a very stressful job in mental health. ADHD episode 1 may have changed my life AND made me a better therapist.

I love Ologies. It’s a great podcast, but I do get annoyed that you spend so much time listing people’s names and reading reviews. But I just fast forward through all that stuff, which leaves only the good stuff. So don’t read my review on your show because I’ll miss it. Awesome podcast though!

I come for the science but stick around for the cursing. Each episode has fascinating nuggets of information but it’s Alie’s combination of charm, obvious glee for learning, and filthy, filthy mouth that make the show soar. I love it.

Love the show. So fun and conversational. Maybe need a “fact-check-ology” episode. Ex: episode about voting: USA is NOT the worlds biggest democracy. I came across this podcast while walking my dogs and found the irreverent style quite enchanting. Self deprecating while very informative. It is a fine line between Monty Pythonesque humour and groan worthy flat footed slapstick. This follows the former and is really worth listening to.
