Best NPR podcast
I used to listen almost exclusively to Talk of the Nation -- not anymore. Tom Ashbrook's 'On Point' is tremendous public radio. I listen to this show every night when I go to bed. Tom Ashbrook is a wonderful interviewer: intelligent, amazingly verbal, and kind. The range of subject matter is vast and interesting. Treat yourself. You will not be sorry.

Professionally moderated and produced. Most of the content is news/public debate yet the show has a healthy and interesting range of subject matter. Tom tends to tenacious topics with a centrist bent.
