It was ok for free, but not worth paying for now
Edit: Apparently user W. Richmond hasn't listened to this podcast. His (her?) argument can be summarized as "It's free, don't complain." Starting with episode 150, the podcast will NOT be free. Next time, please actually try listening to a podcast before giving it a 5-star review. ~~~ My longer review was never published, but now for a bulleted version: • show was ok before: irritating at times (mostly depending on the guests involved), but it was free, so no complaints • I understand podcasts cost money to produce, but 99% of them are still free, and since OTP is basically an advertisement for her services, I thought Pilar was just going to eat the [minimal] costs, or at least find a sponsor like other shows do (Audible seems like they hand out sponsorships to anyone who asks) • giving away the first 15 minutes for free doesn't seem like it's a bone thrown to old listeners, but rather a way to still alert them of any upcoming classes/seminars Pilar is hosting ("You have to pay to hear my show, but you can continue listening to the announcements/ads section of the show for free") • quality/status of the guests will have to go up to justify paying to hear these people talk about themselves (since that's mostly what they do, rather than provide any solid advice/tips). Jeff Goldsmith pulls in big names, and doesn't charge to hear them talk. • there are plenty of free alternatives, including some like the previously alluded to Creative Screenwriting Magazine, that are better tooRead full review »

Fun, informative and writing geektastic! Great advice and laughs from Pilar, Matt and Laurence. It's also great to hear from guests that aren't famous yet, but on their way. It's inspirational to all of us up and comers! If you love screenwriting, subscribe now!Read full review »
