Beyond better to effortlessly fantastic.
I was an early adopter of this podcast after discovering it just a few episodes from its inception. It's been exciting to see it evolve faster that Darwin on steroids into a fascinating behind-the-scenes look at the inner workings of screenwriting as well as the business of selling words to Hollywood. The podcast is not full of a bunch of wannabes stroking each others' egos and lying to each other about their writing prowess (an unfortunate trend in the podcasts of this genre) . Instead, it is populated with a balance of successful industry insiders and talented, hopeful newcomers. Each episode offers new and useful insight into the mechanics of successful screenwriting. Pilar follows a basic interview formula, but keeps it loose, informative and inviting. She is well-versed and comes across as knowledgeable without being bombastic. The recent arrival of Aadip is a welcome addition; since he is an aspiring but undiscovered screenwriter, he often interjects the kinds of questions audience members like myself yearn to ask. All in all, well worth the subscription. I look forward to getting feedback from Pilar when my screenplay is complete!Read full review »
