“You are so young to already have acquired the talents and the empathy you have. The ability to know when to be silent and let a guest speak after you have directed them to that point through thoughtful, insightful questioning is a joy to listen to. I especially enjoy your guests who aren’t just accomplished male sailors, but women and hopefully in the future, people who are generally less represented whether they be of color or just a bit out of the the mainstream most of us spend our days in.
All of you at 59 North deserve a tip of the hat and my sincere appreciation for what you do and how you’ve chosen to live your lives.
This all comes from the perspective of a 71 year old white man who spent many years sailing and cruising in his youth and who now spends a few months a year on a canal cruiser in the northern Netherlands.
