“Yes, most of the guests are somehow related to the sailing industry. But Andy has a great skill in pulling out the “real” story of the person and what makes them tick out from each guest.
There are about 7 or 8 podcasts I listen to regularly, but 59 North is the only one where every episode is listen to all the way through.
Why is this? Well, it is because Andy is one of the best, long form interviewers out there. I am not just talking about podcast, I include all forms of media, including TV, radio, etc. Andy has a wonderful way of making the guest interesting. He engages with every guest and brings out the great stories they all have. It's a truly informative and entertaining podcast, not only because of the great guest, but also because of the host's skill. In my eyes, Andy is in the same category as Charlie Rose, James Lipton, and Mark Maron.
