“If you have never played a role-playing game, or if you have years of experience with games like Dungeons and Dragons or Pathfinder, you will be able to get something out of this podcast. One Shot takes a look at all sorts of tabletop games, from the traditional/best-known (Pathfinder), to more obscure/abstract games (Fiasco), and anything in between. The guests are always hilarious, and James does a great job of rolling with the unexpected choices every guest makes - the hallmark of a great Game-Master.
One of the best features of the show is the changing games - the fact that they offer just a sampler of games like Feng-Shui or Everyone Is John only serves to arouse your curiosity and interest - and if you're anything like me, it inspires you to do some digging and learn what you can about the games they play on the show.
One-Shot is a terrific format already, but the fact that everybody on the show is incredibly likable is what makes it a can't-miss podcast for me. Definitely worth checking out.”Read full review »
