The best way to enjoy and RPG session
If your a fan of sitting around a table with friends telling rousing tales of adventure, set to the clatter of dice and the occasional wacky hi jinks that can ensue. I would like to point you in the direction of the excellent One Shot Podcast a Peaches and Hot Sauce production. Every month James D'Amato sits down with a group of players for an adventure and I can't stop listening to James and his crew of fellow gamer's, if you are out there on the road like me this is an excellent way to feel like you are at a gaming table with friends back home. One Shot is a recent find of mine, I don't even remember how I stumbled on them but since I downloaded the first episodes I have not stopped listening and I always look forward to more. James and his crew go out of their way to entertain, and inform regularly switching up gaming systems and adventures. As of late they have been playing a Star Wars Edge of the Empire campaign, first using the traditional D20 system before moving on to the Fantasy Flight system. In each case they give a brief heads up of the system they are using before really getting into the session, and I have to admit that I am blown away by how awesome the whole setup is. I also really have to give them credit for exposing me to new systems I really want to try out, such as the "All out of Bubblegum" series which had me laughing out loud multiple times on a recent plane ride (much to fellow passengers amusements, and the looks from the flight attendants), because how often can a Player get Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to carry them down a subway tunnel, or fight his way through a security line with an umbrella causing the messy death of an employee in the process. All of the episodes are highly recommended, and I really can't give enough credit to James, Kat Murphy, and everyone else who puts in an appearance on the podcast. The show is excellently produced, and the creativity of the folks playing and Game Mastering is always something to behold. The focus here is on telling entertaining, and telling great stories such as the recent "eight nights of murder" which featured the Deadlands Noir setting (of which I am a proud Kickstarter), and I was really happy to see the system get a full workout through Kat's excellent adventure. Even if you are not a big fan of the traditional RPG experience I would highly recommend taking a listen as the stories in and of itself are awesome, and the mechanics are never over bearing in the sense that you know the players are rolling dice but the listener is never confused by the mechanics. Again folks I really can't recommend One Shot enough, and I hope you give it a listen. Cheers FolksRead full review »

This is pure greatness!!! Forget sliced bread, forget beer, this is better than all of that!! The GM is amazing, and his players step up to match his story and style with a hilarity all of their own. IF your idea of a RPG is all gritty and dark seriousness, then maybe this is not for you, but if...Read full review »
