Definitely a Crit
This show delivers exactly what I wanted from a roleplaying podcast. It is consistently funny, the pace is excellent, and the rules for each system are described in just enough detail to let you know what's happening without bogging down the episodes. In addition, the audio quality is generally superb so you really feel like you're in the room with them. James is the sort of GM I aspire to be, always ready with a vividly portrayed NPC when the situation calls for it, but allowing the players freedom to pursue their characters' motivations. And speaking of the players, each of them has also been superb, bringing their characters to life and clearly having a good time doing it. It makes me wonder if Chicago is some kind of secret roleplaying haven where the world's most excellent roleplayers hide from the rest of us. If you have any interest in roleplaying, or simply interesting stories told hilariously, this is the show for you.Read full review »

This is seriously a great podcast and very instructional about how to play RPGs without ever becoming boring. The Edge of the Empire episodes were what made me a subscriber! Keep up the fantastic work, James and Co.!

Great podcast, brilliant host. With a wonderful mixture of players, both experienced and novice, which give a great perspective on the multitude of games they play. Highlight of my week.
