I love this show, the way the guys break down the songs but please stop including guests. It ruins the episode!

I love how they focus on one song but also deep dive into the history of the band and the album on which the one song appeared. A great way to learn about musical history. They feature a wide array of musical genres and artists. The hosts have great chemistry.

As a music nerd I try to give many music related podcasts a shot. What I love about ONE SONG is just that it’s one song Like a good slice of pizza easy to consume. The hosts have a good knowledge of music and listening is like sitting with my friends discussing the subject.

I’ve only listened to one episode, so maybe it was a fluke, but I was really looking forward to hearing an analysis of “Let’s Groove” along the lines of the how they do it on the Strong Songs podcast. Instead, for the first half of the show we heard the life story of their guest— someone named...Read full review »

But why they always picking garbage songs???

I love this podcast. Would give it 5 stars except that when they have a guest, it is so frustrating to listen. They spend more time talking to the guest than they do about the song. Often I get so frustrated with it when they do that, that I just give up & turn off the episode. Guys, please,...Read full review »

I LOVE how much this duo LOVES music! It is simply joyous and infectious. They always point things out that stay in my brain. I listen, smile, and laugh—and always say out loud “I LOVE how much they LOVE this” (insert any of the songs they have covered).

pretty good although a lil more research would help. i.e. if you even watch/listen to a live version of enjoy the silence, yes it’s always martin gore providing the harmony. the only difficult part to get past is the constant speaking over one another and the incessant, tone deaf, lispy singing...Read full review »

This podcast is so entertaining that I will listen to episodes about songs I don’t even like.

I love learning about the details of these ubiquitous songs delivered with enthusiasm and expert knowledge from Luxxury. I just wish Diallo would stop blocking the flow with non-sequitur name drops and mediocre comments about his brushes with relevance. Keep up the good work!

I’ve been really enjoying One Song for a while now. Diallo and Luxxury provide great insights on all sorts of great songs. It’s super interesting learning about the history of the artists and what was going on with them prior to and after these songs. I appreciate that they don’t stick to any one...Read full review »

I listened to the “Rehab” episode… love that song and Amy Winehouse but sadly, 10 minutes in they were still talking about themselves. I lost interest and don’t think I’ll bother again. Great Idea though. Cheers Simon

I was recently introduced to One Song, and I’m already rating it 5 stars based on a few things: It’s entertaining, I’ve learned a LOT about music in general - and the chosen song in particular - and also it’s helped me discover (or re-discover) related songs to beef up my music playlists. Thanks,...Read full review »

This is one of the most enjoyable and insightful podcasts on music or otherwise. The interplay between the Diallo and Luxxxxxxury (whisper: interpolation) is as joyful as is their love of music, often tying back songs to their own lives. I was so sad when Southside ended and went searching for more of Diallo Riddle’s material. I’ve since been bingeing this podcast: it warms my gen x music nerd heart and introduces me to new music. I love how eclectic it is and told all my friends.

I love when they play the isolated stems of these iconic songs so you can hear little bits of the production you otherwise wouldn’t hear or notice. Okay now that I’ve left a nice review: pleeeeeeasse do Marjorie by Taylor Swift which has her opera singer grandmother’s vocals in the stems!! 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

I love love love listening to these two. Most podcasts I listen to at night, but I listen to One Song in the morning. This show can lift my spirits for the day. It’s about music, the music industry, race & culture, and it’s low key about friendship… and yes, they do know hiphop.

Ugh. When is Luxxxury back? Also, you guys don’t need guests. Diallo and Luxxxury carry the show on their own.

One Song is an okay podcast as long as they are not talking about Hip Hop. It is super clear they are spectators from afar and not true Hip Hop heads. I do not think they are qualified in any way to speak about Hip Hop authoritatively.

I love all of the facts about how these songs link back to other songs.
