Great interviews of those who one chance
This is a fascinating series to hear from those who were good enough to be chosen for a test but for various reasons never had a second opportunity. It is very poignant and at times amusing and full of pathos but not self-pity by those one-off internationals. Brian asks all the right questions and treats each player with respect and reverence. There are echoes of “Field of Dreams” where the doctor, played by Burt Lancaster, only got one game in the Major League Baseball. This is a wonderful podcast, exploring those cricketers who had one chance at doing what every cricket fan dreams of: playing for their country. Brian gently explores the stories behind the one appearances, with some truly extraordinary individuals. I cannot recommend it enough.
