Beware of blurred line between content and sponsor
Here's the deal. After listening to several of these episodes, it's not at all apparent whether the podcast is able to separate their content from their sponsors. On the surface it looks benign but I can't help feeling a bit icky when I listen to the podcast. eBay is a sponsor--they're transparent about that because there are eBay ads. But, every episode (so far) has also told a story about a business owner that became successful on -wait for it- yeah, eBay. So while the content seems mostly useful, my trust isn't there. Kinda like, I know I shouldn't trust what a property owner says about his property--cause he has a vested interest and is inherently biased. My suggestion for this podcast? Get your crap together Gimlet! I hold you to a high standard. Don't abuse me as a listener with biased content. I expect better guys.Read full review »
