“My mother was a Port Authority of NY/NJ employee working in 1WTC. I worked in 1WFC for American Express. Every day we enjoyed spending lunch time together. Until now the 1993 bombing has barely been mentioned in American history. I still have nightmares about that day. I remember the explosion I was sitting in my mother’s office in tower 1 when the bomb threw us across the room. I remember my fear and the crowds off people running down smoke filled dark staircases. I remember the moment when my mother unable to continue collapsed on those staircases and I remember the 2 brave men that tried to help her. I remember laying with her on the floor until NYFD personnel came to rescue us and transport us to Beekman Downtown Hospital
I don’t know how many people realize or remember the bombing. Last time I spoke with someone with the 9/11 memorial they categorized 1993 as an “incident”.”
