Always helpful, insightful, mindset shifter
2 reasons I like it: -If you are into activity, productivity, personal growth, goal setting, pushing yourself, tracking, etc… and not getting there. You will have the reinforcement to actually continue doing the habits and learning, it has everything to get you in the mood. You will get reminded why it is important to do everything you listen to, and why you should never stop. Specially if you have a particular mindset (old detrimental mindset) and you are struggling with past conditioning. This is great repetition, eventually it becomes natural to think this way. -I'm a film editor and I like that there is communication and tips with people on the film industry but I also like that is not limited to that. Actually there are other things to talk about. There is a life out there. And that even if the guests work on film, it's not about that, is about the things that people never talk about and you wish someone told you. You have experts on many fields, even NASA. If you are in some form of sedentarism or you say you don't have the time for it. You are the one that needs to run and listen to this podcast. This show used to have another name, now the “Optimize yourself” actually does not prioritize a particular field which is great because it is an holistic approach to the topics at hand, and you will feel more confident to know more people it talking about it and it applies to anyone. This is like money, you use it every day, like or not, you have to know something about money because you deal with it. Even if you don’t want to, your mind and body operates in a certain way. Think about the fact that if you agree or not, is because that thing is working for you. So, if you don’t study about it is like getting into a car without windows. ------- Besides, There are some recent episodes that I didn’t particularly like or find hard to listen. They don’t feel as useful as older ones, however there is great content on recent episodes like 56 and 58 that I particularly liked. I would recommend to start from older episodes, the older one actually says “Start Here” and that is a smart choice. I think so far those episodes have the best content, and are a great foundation for the next to come. But almost if you choose randomly it will feel like a serendipity. You will feel lucky and content. It’s impossible to always hit home runs. But this podcast is close to that, and I also like the production value, it’s incredible the amount of shows that does not put effort on the audio quality, presentation etc. Others can be boring, here you will feel the duration is just right and sometimes you will want more. It’s insightful and entertaining. If you are a type of person that always like to learn new useful stuff and taking things to the next level you are in the right place, Zack is a huge nerd that will make you feel you could do better at researching stuff jajajaja. It’s weird, but for me, it is a good mixture between personal growth, health, food, activity, productivity and career. I like go beyond my career life and be a nerd on some areas you have to be as ahuman being, and this show has the right mix for my personal taste. I feel like it’s always different and the topics covered are well curated and balanced. So it’s not predictable at all. I like the fact Zack is growing or into something and he shares it at the same time. So if he is training you will hear about optimizing body-food-sleep, if he is film editing more it would talk about blood and sitting, and how to deal with people, more about sleep jajaja etc. It’s fun. No matter what you are doing (and if your agenda is totally different) you will enjoy it. At moments updates are slow, because the host is busy. But believe when they come (and those seasons are very often) it will surpass you. You will have enough for the next months. I like to call this podcast a shortcut to learn a ton of stuff in short period of time and you can apply everything right away, Zack is good at summarizing and getting the guest to the the relevant cream of the crop. Honestly, if you listen it regularly is almost impossible to not make a change in your life at least on something minor and easy to do. It gets you thinking, and that is why it is on my favorites list.Read full review »
