Good story. Bad acting. Mediocre writing.
Look, this is worth listening to in their background. It has interesting plot points. When one character is “recording” their thoughts, it’s pretty good, which is counterintuitive. Show don’t tell is a basic general writing principle. But, here, any time two characters interact, this podcast becomes almost unlistenable. The dialogue between characters who are intimate with each other is stilted, formal and shallow. I’ve been binging and need to finish, but it’ll be a slog. Update: Had to stop at Episode 37. I thought the writing and acting were bad with two characters. With four, this is unbearable. This was a great concept that just wasn’t executed well: editing (both sound and text), writing, acting, and character development are all boring.

I stopped listening After the second episode with the female actress. She was awful, clearly reading from a script.

While the narrative moves at a good pace, the bigger storyline can be excruciatingly slow but likely intentional. I can’t reveal much more...Read full review »
